Folkloreum is my main website—the place where I share the history, folklore, and superstitions that are underneath what I do. It’s meant for reading, listening, and learning, as well as a way to find not only my candle magic spells and rituals but as a portal to everything else I do.

The Feral Folklorist is my podcast that digs into eerie legends, old magic, and forgotten folklore with a witch’s eye and a skeptic’s grin. Part history, part haunting, each episode unearths the strange and supernatural stories that still echo through our culture today.

On my Patreon, I offer exclusive content for lovers of folklore and folk magic—like my monthly digital zine Folkloreum, book of shadows pages, behind-the-scenes extras, weekly articles, mystery boxes, and live Zoom classes. It’s a space for curious minds and magical hearts to dig deeper and learn together.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is rootwork?
Rootwork — sometimes called conjure or hoodoo — is a traditional system of folk magic rooted in prayer, herbs, candle spells, and the movement of spirit. It’s not about fancy rituals. It’s about working with what’s available, with full heart and steady intention, to shift situations, open roads, and protect what matters.
Do you perform spells for clients?
The spells and candle work I perform is found right here on my website and come in many forms including community services, 7-day setting of lights (candle altar services), same-day mini spells, and larger rituals.
How do I book a session?
You can schedule your Tarot reading directly through my online booking calendar.
Pick the service you want, choose a time that works for you, and pay securely online.
Once your appointment is booked, you’ll get a confirmation by email.
Do you take phone calls or walk-ins?
I perform readings by phone only.
Due to the volume of clients and the nature of the work, I only take appointments through the online booking system.
This helps make sure everyone gets the focus and time they deserve.

About Papa Gee
I’m a conjure doctor, a potion master, a tarot reader, and a rootworker. For decades, I’ve offered spellwork, candle services, and magical consultations, alongside my work as a teacher, writer, and creator of spiritual tools.
With over 30 years of experience in witchcraft, Granny Magic, folk conjure, and traditions from many spiritual paths, I’ve written more than 18 books on the subject.
Some of what I practice is Appalachian. Some comes from the hoodoo tradition. Some is rooted in traditional witchcraft. It all weaves together into the work I do today—work meant to help people change their lives, find their power, and hold steady when the road gets rough.
I share that work through spellwork and candle rituals, teaching classes, creating videos and podcasts, and crafting books and tools that keep the old ways alive in a modern world.
I hope you’ll continue walking with me in this next chapter as I add new things by listening to The Feral Folklorist podcast, reading my books, or exploring the articles and magic I share on my website and Patreon. You’ll still find handcrafted goods like mojo bags, amulets, charms, and artwork in my online shop and Etsy store.
